Dr. Oliver Gausmann

What I work on

I support management teams and investors with three decisions: Which scaling lever moves the most important number? Which AI use belongs in operation? How does software delivery become economically measurable?

My operating experience includes helping build and sell a company to S&P Global, leading more than 200 engineers after four acquisitions and COO responsibility for 300 people across seven locations.

My role begins with a clear analysis. When the scope is sound, I support implementation inside the company. The work ends with measurement, documentation and an accountable owner in the team.

I earned a summa cum laude doctorate in Business Information Systems at the University of Augsburg. Today I teach global software management, AI and regulation in the Master's programme in Business Information Systems at the University of Zurich. I also hold a Diploma in Corporate Governance with Distinction.

Three areas of focus

Scaling B2B software

Prioritize acquisition, pricing, retention and delivery as economically measurable levers.

AI use and governance

Structure systems, use cases, ownership and the next limited implementation step.

Software delivery

Turn workflow, technical decisions and delivery costs into a reliable baseline.

Outside of work

When I'm not working, I fly. Private pilot license, seaplane rating. Good practice for decisions you can't take back.
